There is no better way to celebrate the start of summer than visiting Chelsea in Bloom, Chelsea’s prestigious annual floral art show. Things are about to get wild on Sloane Street as it returns for its 12th year, bringing the legendary RHS Chelsea Flower Show out into the streets of Chelsea and transforming the neighbourhood into a celebration of floral art.
Pretty in pink – Flamingoes on Walton Street
This year’s theme is Floral Safari, inspired by adventure, discovery, exotic animals, savannahs, plains and jungles. The competition showcases floral displays reflecting the participating retailer’s interpretation of the theme in their own unique style.
King of the Jungle – Lions in Sloane Square
Taking their inspiration from the vast savannahs, incredible wildlife and verdant jungles of Africa, retailers on and around Sloane Street are competing this week for the prize by transforming their storefronts into a cacophony of floral installations, which will be judged by a panel from the RHS based on their creative interpretation of the theme, as well as their style, flair, relevance to brand and use of fresh flowers.
Psychedelic Wildlife – Giraffe at Kiki McDonough
Entrance to the Jungle – Giraffes at Rag&Bone
Technicolour Dream – Zebra’s at La Perla
Get ready to take a walk on the wild side. The savannah is in Sloane Street for Chelsea in Bloom 2017 until 27th May.
