Following our interview with Jessica Sweidan and raising awareness for Synchronicity Earth here is our first post on one the most rarely seen mammals facing extinction.
SAOLA, the Asian Unicorn.
Often called the Asian Unicorn, little is known about the enigmatic Saola in the two decades since its discovery. None exist in captivity and this rarely seen mammal is already critically endangered.
1 The Saola is found in only one place in the world: the Annamite Mountains forests on the border between Vietnam and Laos.
2 They have only been photographed in the wild 3 times, which has earned it the title of the ‘Asian Unicorn’. As a result, very little is known about these mysterious creatures.
3 These rare beauties are critically endangered. Loss of habitat is the main threat to their survival.
